Cota 830 - Red wine

This excellent full bodied red wine is hand produced using artisanal methods by boutique vineyard Bodegas 40 Grados Norte. The Cota 830 is the premium range and is produced from Bobal, Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties, grown from 50 year old vines in the hamlet of La Vallesa in Siete Aguas to the south of the province of Valencia.

At 830 metres above sea level (hence the name of the wine) it is considered to be a 'high altitude' wine and carries the Denomination of Origin Valencia. An ideal combination of clayey soils with some limestone outcrops, together with generally sparse and porous local topography combine with an excellent micro-climate to produce grapes of exceptional quality.

The Cota 830 is aged for 18 months in Allier Forest French oak casks and spends a minimum of 6 months in bottles before being distributed.

CHARACTERISTICS:
NOSE: An intense bouquet of blueberries which, after a gentle agitation, develops notes of eucalyptus and liquorice on a background of cloves, with a smoky scent.
PALATE: Initially round and warm with sweet tannins joined with lactic acidity resulting in good flavour and body.
FINISH:  A creamy and long prune aftertaste which enhances a delightful overall tasting.

AWARDS: International Competition Golden Bacchus Wine Bacchus 2013
